Conscious Discipline® is a comprehensive social and emotional intelligence behavior management program that empowers both adults and children.  Based on current brain research, child development information and developmentally appropriate practices, the goal is to provide systematic changes by fostering the emotional intelligence of adults first and children second.

In regard to teaching young children, Conscious Discipline® leads teachers and programs through a process that promotes permanent behavior changes.  The change is from a traditional compliance model of discipline to a relationship-based community model.

The "school family" is the core, and is held together through communication skills which are taught during conflict moments and through active learning sessions.

Love, expressed through safety, cooperation and respect, is the tool used to imbue the system with power.

The Conscious Discipline® skill-based program helps teachers build respectful relationships within themselves, with colleagues, parents and children.

Lunch Bunch is an 1.5 hour program offered to children who attend a Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning class.  This program allows a group of 15 children to stay from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to eat lunch together with teachers Nancy Parker and Amy Splain.  The major objective of this program is to encourage social development.  The group also engages in learning enrichment activities and enjoys a second outdoor learning and large muscle time.  Spaces will be filled on a first-requested basis.  Minimum attendance is twice monthly.

Cost per day for Lunch Bunch is $13.  Drop-ins will be accepted in the morning for that day's Lunch Bunch, if space if available.

A parent of each child who participates in Lunch Bunch is required to assist in Lunch Bunch as  a parent aide and will be assigned no more than two parent aide dates per session.
